bob swanson, a native of bloomfield hills, michigan, is a graduate of cranbrook school....he received his bachelors degree in architecture at the university of michigan and his masters' at M.I.T.....professionally he was associated with the firms of saarinen swanson & saarinen, and swanson associates, both of bloomfield hills.....he practices now with swanson meads in birmingham, michigan.....his notable projects include the university of michigan college of art & architecture, oakland university's kresge library and the de salle auditorium at the cranbrook academy of art.
photography has been a long term avocation and consuming interest, focusing primarily on architectural subjects.....he attended courses in photoshop and the mechanics of digital phtography.....twice he has participated in workshops in santa fe, new mexico and once with the rocky mountain school of photography in california's wine country, to broaden his photographic horizon.....he has received numerous awards in both architecture and photography.
